This book is written in the form of emails sent from a nephew to an uncle. The uncle has gone on holiday and left his dragon with Eddie and his family. They have a few problems with it – to say the least! It is very funny reading Eddie’s emails and his version of how they are coping with the dragon. For example, he tried to find out what to feed the dragon, ‘One site said dragons only eat coal. Another said they prefer damsels in distress. When I told mum, she said, ‘Then I’d better look out, hadn’t I?’’ An enjoyable read and the first in a series. Nice illustrations. Shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize.
